Blå Kors Genbrug
This project was designed to address the surprisingly many thefts that happens in thrift shops. The prototype adds a display and a circuit to the shelves, and whenever an item is picked up, the circuit breaks and the display tells about the charity work of the thrift shop. By doing this, the design does not punish the user with a scolding signage (which have failed many times in for example Blå Kors), but instead tries to invoke empathy in the user - shopper or thief.
The designed display implemented in the Blå Kors thrift store. The wires go under the items and form a complete circuit.
How the circuit looks like without items completing the circuit.
